Emmanuel Adebayor has assured Tottenham fans he is ‘giving everything’ to try and fire the club to a top-four finish.
After a difficult season at White Hart Lane, the Togo striker was a surprise starter for yesterday’s showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
But Adebayor silenced the critics with a brilliant first-half goal before setting up
‘It’s been a difficult season for me with injuries but I feel I’m getting fitter now, said Adebayor, who has managed just four goals in the league this term. ‘We’ve two games to go and I will give everything I’ve got left in the locker.’
Spurs finish the season with games against Stoke and Sunderland but must also hope Arsenal drop points in their final two games against strugglers Wigan and Newcastle.
Goalscorer Sigurdsson said: ‘Arsenal have two tough games. Hopefully we’ll get six points and that will be enough.’
